Its strategic location and abundant resources have made Australia the ideal country for importing LNG from China beyond Qatar. However, there are still many risks to be avoided for Chinese-funded enterprises that want to enter the Australian LNG market. Global production of LNG (liquefied natural gas) more than doubled between 2000 and 2014. Australia currently accounts for more than half of the world’s new LNG production capacity. It is predicted that in the next ten years, the output of LNG in Australia will increase by three times.
