The third unit of the third volume of the textbook for high school Chinese language consists of four texts - “Forget the Memory”, “Reminiscence,” “Fire Penalty,” and “My Father Left it for Me.” These four complex narratives have significant common features: they all focus on the character’s image, and they all have a deep commemorative nature. The commemorative ones are not ordinary people. However, in spite of this, there are indeed obvious differences between the methods of character shaping and the choice of materials, or the layout of the chapter structure.
