语言是人类思维和交际的工具,因而语言教学具有十分重要的意义。但长期以来,由于有关言语能力的理论研究不足,导致了语言教学效果不佳。“少、慢、差、费”现象十分严重。为从根本上彻底扭转这种被动局面,必须正确认识言语能力的实质、结构及其形成发展规律,以此指导语言教学改革。一、言语能力的实质言语能力是包括母语能力和外语能力。关于言语能力的实质争论由来已久,虽各种提法不一,但就其根本特点而言,大致可以概括为经验论、先验论和合金论。
