最近,农业部组织专家对设在湖南省湘潭县泉塘子乡的一个超级杂交稻研究示范基地进行验收。经过专家组现场严格实收测产,102亩(1亩=667平方米,下同)示范田平均亩产达到807.46千克,顺利通过专家组验收。中国工程院院士、“杂交水稻之父”袁隆平在验收现场表示,我国超级杂交稻研究已经取得突破,从而为大面积种植超级杂交稻奠定了坚实的基础。2003年9月份,湖南省农业厅组织省内专家在另一个超级杂交稻示范基地——龙山县华塘乡螺蛳滩村
