兴趣培养历来为中外有影响的教育家们作为对教学艺术的高层次追求而倡导。学生不能只靠在学校学到的知识工作、生活一生,他们必须终身学习,因此学校教育必须培养他们“爱学”的态度和“会学”的能力,使他们在毕业后的学习、工作、生活中不断丰富和深化所学知识。地理知识涉及面很广,学习起来更须如此。如果学生靠死记硬背暂时获得知识,考出较好的分数,但他厌倦对地理知识的学习,这就不能认为是地理教学的成功。如果地理教学在教会地理知识的同时还培养了学生的兴趣,学业结束后,学生学习地理的积极性依然存在,地理知识的大门则永远向他敞开。从这个角度讲,兴趣培养应是现代地理教学的目的之一。

From this perspective, interest cultivation should be one of the purposes of modern geography teaching.
