Infrared technology was used militarily during World War II but was widely used in military or in the late 1950s and early 1960s. The reason why the infrared technology is widely used in the military is that it has many unique advantages: 1) the performance from the space through the atmosphere is better than visible light, the role of distance; 2) high resolution; 3) passive work, simple structure , Suitable for aerial applications; 4) free from time constraints, day and night available; 5) good at identifying camouflage targets; 6) good anti-interference and concealment; 7) the basic infrared absorption problems do not exist in space to facilitate observation of a variety of high-altitude targets, Such as in the active section, the passive section and reentry section of the missile. But its disadvantage is that the role of the distance is limited, in the case of clouds decay greatly.
