When he was in Hong Kong for junior high, he was also fortunate to present his comic book titled “The Enchanted Man,” which was published in the Shanghai comic book published in Shanghai at the time. The well-known painter and editor-in-chief Ye Xiaoyu wrote a warm letter to him and this unexpected gain has become an important factor in his future involvement in the arts. March 1932, only 19 years old, he came to Shanghai from Hong Kong alone, began his artistic pursuit. However, due to his father’s relationship with Huang Lenglan, he soon came to Shanghai and did not enter the cultural circle. He became the staff member of Shanghai Mayor Wu Tiecheng’s office and the chief clerk of Shanghai Municipal Government. Since then, Wu Tiecheng served as the central secretary of the KMT, he was appointed director of the Central Office of the Secretary-General. However, due to his love of art, his real aspiration is still to devote himself to art. His artistic talent, knowledge and ability to social activities were soon appreciated by the Shanghai art community, especially the comics community. During the war of resistance against Japan, he participated in the “Second Stream Hall” which was freely composed by cultural circles such as Xia Yan, Pan Hannian, Ding Cong, Wu Zu Guang, Ye Qian Yu in Chongqing.
