Through the investigation and analysis of 4682 minority freshmen, it is found that there are some differences in the importance evaluation of minority students in different social strata in choosing 16 influential factors in colleges and universities. When choosing colleges and universities, the basic minority students are affected by “tuition and cost of living ” factors to a relatively greater extent, the middle class and disadvantaged minority students are more valued “the influence of parents, family members or other relatives ”. Further analysis found that the stratification of ethnic groups within ethnic groups had a significant impact on children’s choice of institutions of higher learning. The degree of influence of parents and family members on the choice of colleges and universities was positively correlated with the level of their parents’ education. The “Tuition and Living Cost Factors” The impact of colleges and universities is negatively correlated with family income. The unfavorable position of ethnic minorities in basic education in terms of their parents’ educational attainment and family income makes their choice of colleges and universities unfair.
