Global Heritage Network (GHN) has been created by Global Heritage Fund (GHF) to provide the archaeological- and heritage preservation communities an online platform that is multi-purpose: to raise awareness of threats to heritage sites,to share information on sites and best practices in preservation, and to create a space in which groups can work together to preserve sites that are under threat. To achieve this, the website is comprised of three inter-connected parts: GHN Sites,GHN Community and GHN Library.GHN Sites is a database of more than 650 sites (World Heritage Inscribed,Tentative Listed or significant National Heritage) throughout the developing world,is built around Google Earth plugin, and offers maps,documentation,photos,videos,3D models and other media.GHN Community is a social network in which members can network, participate in discussions, and join site-based and thematic groups, while GHN Library is a collection of preservation-related digital documents.Threat monitoring is conducted through reports from members in the field and multi-temporal satellite imagery analysis, with the imagery (Quickbird,Worldview1 and Worldview2) supplied by DigitalGlobe,so that by the end of 2013 each site in the database will have multitemporal high resolution satellite imagery available to view as an overlay in GHN Sites. The imagery can also be shared with research and site preservation projects,on the understanding that the imagery users contribute back to GHN.GHN members can also act as Site Coordinators to help gather documentation and run discussion groups for sites in which they are interested, and in the same role they can also marshall groups of like-minded members to identify, plan and execute preservation projects.Officially launched in 2011,GHN now has more than 1000 members representing 100 nationalities and continues to grow each day. This poster is designed to complement the proposed paper by providing a visual representation and explanation of the Global Heritage Network platform.
