After many years preservation and protection,China has formed an integrated heritage framework: the core is world heritages and intangible heritages, the extensions include Chinas famous historical and cultural cities, national key cultural relics protection units, famous historical and cultural towns and villages, cultural collections and so on.Recently, with the development of IT techniques, more and more digital projects are sponsored in the preservation and exhibition of kinds of heritage, one of which is “The Theory and Methods of Digital Preservation of Cultural Heritage”,a National Program on Key Basic Research Project (973 Program). In 2011,the launching ceremony of HIST (the International Centre on Space Technologies for Natural and Cultural Heritage) was held in Beijing,China. The centre is hosted by the Centre for Earth Observation and Digital Earth (CEODE) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. This article takes the extensive heritages (kinds of heritages in international, national and province level) in China as the research objects and makes the research on the sharing platform of heritage information on the basis of standard metadata, interactive community and spatial techniques.Considering the complex of the different kinds of heritage,we will carefully select and re-design the metadata structure to meet the need of compatibility and extension. After the comparisons with the existing metadata like SPECTRUM,CDWA,EDM and CRM etc.,we decide to select DCMI Cultural Heritage Metadata(based on Dublin Core) as core metadata, which can be ideal for our multi-source heritage information and to extend in the future if possible. To build the interactive community for heritage information,Drupal CMS is chosen this time.It is an open source content management platform powering millions of websites and applications. It can be easily re-developed to meet most of needs, such as data navigation, query, micro blog, forum, knowledge base construction, multimedia information (images, videos, audios and maps) integration and visual GIS display. This work will pay more attention on the spatial attributes of heritage objects, which can be used to integrate the nearby information via the spatial relationship to support more valuable information for the users.Besides, mobile clients with the features of locating are also considered. In a short, this work will build a integrated platform with the services like community based project, training course, learning materials, performing arts, events & news and reports, which will facilitate the work of application, outreach, management and sharing of the heritage information in China.
