晚唐五代时敦煌石窟的长甬道出现了一种比较固定的图像配置方式,即是在甬道两壁绘制男女供养人像,盝顶两披绘制于阗守护神与瑞像,甬道顶则是将诸多佛教圣迹图像绘制在一个画面之中,形成一幅比较特殊的佛教圣迹图。最早使用这一图像的是莫高窟第9窟[1](图1][[32]),此窟甬道绘制于索勋任节度使的唐景福二年(893)九月前后[3]。此后直到454窟甬道重修完成的太平兴国元年(976)[4]前后,大约80余年的时间中,莫高窟有9、25、39、98、108、
In the late Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties, there was a relatively fixed arrangement of images in the long corridor of Dunhuang Grottoes, that is, the portrait of men and women was drawn on both sides of the corridor.
