为配合三峡库区文物考古的抢救性发掘工作，1998年冬，厦门大学考古队(由两名老师和96级考古专业14名本科生组成)在巴东县沿渡河镇(原罗溪坝乡)罗坪村棕杨树槽(俗称蔡家包)遗址进行发掘和钻探，并于罗坪猪脑壳包墓地抢救清理两座墓葬。其中一座破坏严重，现就保存较好的一座墓作一介绍。
