任何类型的图书馆都是人类知识文化的宝库,为更好地利用这一精神资源,充分发挥现有图书的作用,就必须以读者为中心,作好读者服务工作。一切为读者这是图书馆的唯一宗旨,是图书馆工作的灵魂、目标和方向,也就是图书馆的各项工作都要围绕读者开展,要以读者的需要作为一切工作的出发点和归宿。因此读者工作既是衡量图书馆一切工作的质量、效益和价值的尺度,也是提高图书馆社会效益的途径。读者工作是图书馆工作的前哨和阵地,是图书馆全部工作的外在表现,因此,我们要求全体工作人员必须树立全心全意力读者服务的思想。要求管理入员对读者必须做到热情主动、耐心细致、礼貌待人。根据科研单位的特点,千方百计地满足科研人员对文献的需求,我们采用以下的服务方式:
