祁连山是我国著名的高大山系之一,横跨甘肃、青海两省,长达千余公里。东起乌鞘岭的松山,西至玉门石油河,北临河西走廊,南靠柴达木盆地。祁连山是由一系列平行排列的山岭和谷地组成,一般海拔3000米~5000米,主峰海拔5547米。受高原寒冷气候的影响,祁连山在海拔4200米以上的高山地带终年积雪。祁连山是少数民族聚居的地区,主要民族有藏族、裕固族、回族、汉族等7个民族。其中藏族和裕固族为居住人数最多的两个少数民族。
Qilian Mountains is one of China’s famous high mountain ranges, spanning more than 1,000 kilometers across Gansu and Qinghai provinces. Songshan from Wushaoling Ridge to the east, Yumen Oil River to the west, Hexi Corridor to the north and Qaidam Basin to the south. Qilian Mountains is a series of mountains and valleys arranged in parallel, the general elevation of 3000 meters to 5000 meters, the main peak of 5547 meters above sea level. Affected by the cold weather in the plateau, the Qilian Mountains are snow-capped at an altitude of 4,200 meters above sea level. Qilian Mountains are areas inhabited by ethnic minorities. The main ethnic groups are Tibetans, Yugu, Hui and Han nationalities. Among them, Tibetan and Yugur are the two most populous ethnic minorities.
