The purpose of this study was to investigate the value of this hypothesis by studying the plasma concentrations of branched-chain amino acids (AARs) and insulin in femoral and femoral blood, respectively, in cirrhotic patients with hepatic encephalopathy. Subjects 25 patients, no family history of diabetes, no history of pancreatic disease. Among them, 8 cases had portal-vena cava anastomosis, and 13 cases of esophageal varices were seen in the remaining 17 cases. Hepatic
