The U.S. Huffington Post published on June 23 Justin O’Connor, a professor at Monash University in Australia, entitled “The Soft Power Battle: The Digital Cold War between the United States and China.” The article points out that the soft power defined by Harvard University professor Joseph Nye is American values on many aspects of freedom, democracy and human rights, sometimes the “Western” values. Now China understands its soft power according to its different meanings. It focuses on a non-threatening tone to describe China’s rise in global power. China hopes to show its rise in harmony. As long as this addition is not considered a zero-sum game, it can fit into the slightly expanded world order.
