[Objective]To study the low-polarity chemical constituents in the whole plant of Parochetus communis Buch.[Methods]The low-polarity chemical constituents were extracted from the whole plant of P.communis by organic solvent, and were isolated and identified by GC-MS method. The relative contents of the chemical constituents were determined by area normalization method.[Results]A total of 75peaks were detected and 61 compounds were separated and identified, which accounted for 98.78%of the total low-polarity chemical constituents. The main low-polarity chemical constituents were as follows:methyl palmitate(25.15%),pentadecane(5.93%),tetradecane(5.65%),methyl-9,12,15-octadecatrienoate(5.60%),clionasterol(3.84%),palmitic acid(3.83%),tridecane(3.74%),phytol(3.40%)and methyl linoleate(3.32%).[Conclusions]This research provided theoretical foundation for the further development and utilization of P.communis.
