我的父亲——丁永泉,一生只读过半年私塾,十三岁学唱黄梅调,始终和“卑贱”的底层人民保持着密切联系。在旧社会,他虽不懂把黄梅戏作为武器同反动势力作斗争的道理,然而他以朴实的阶级感情,把生活天地缩影于土墩、庙台。他老人家演出的《告粮官》、《乌金记》、《卖花记》、《金钗记》、《荞麦记》、《珍珠塔》等传统剧目以及一些生活小戏,都以鲜明的态度揭露了封建制度的黑暗,唱出了劳动人民的心声。
