1994年9月14日,应邀来访的联合国秘书长加利和国务院副总理兼外交部长钱其琛在京签署了一份重要的协议——1995年9月在北京举行第四次世界妇女大会。于是,无数双眼睛投向中国。他们不仅关心东道国为会议所开展的筹备工作,而且更关心中国政府为保障妇女全面参与发展所做出的努力和取得的成果。为此,本刊记者专访了国务委员、国务院妇女儿童工作委员会主任彭珮云。
