九所特殊高中在纽约市享有盛誉。特殊高中的招生和录取都很严格,除拉瓜地亚音乐艺术与演艺高中外,进入其他八所特殊高中必须通过特殊高中招生考试。特殊高中办学特色鲜明,都有自己的优势学科,均开设了门类广泛的选修课程和高水平的大学先修课程,课外活动丰富多彩,办学成效卓著。特殊高中的办学经验为我国高中教育改革尤其是高中办学模式、科学教育、课程多样化等方面提供了有益的启示。
Nine special high schools have a good reputation in New York City. Special high school enrollment and admission are very strict, in addition to LaGuardia Music Arts and Performing Arts High School, into the other eight special high school must pass a special high school entrance examination. Special high school characteristics of distinctive schools, have their own advantages of subjects, have set up a wide range of elective courses and a high level of prerequisite courses, extracurricular activities colorful, outstanding school performance. The experience of running a school in special senior high schools provides useful enlightenment for the reform of high school education in our country, especially for the mode of high schools, science education and curriculum diversification.
