The “Do-It-Yourself” Science Education Project is a collaborative project between the French Academy of Sciences and the French Ministry of Education aimed at improving the education of children in primary and kindergarten settings. Originally developed from a “Hands on” project in the United States, the project, initiated by American physicist Redman, aims to empower students to learn knowledge in a scientific way, emphasizing learning methods, ways of thinking, and attitudes toward learning Culture. In 1994, at the initiative of the French Nobel Prize winner George Schaap, the project was introduced into France and was named “LA MAINA LA PATE”, literally “to get started and dough together”.
