The prevalence of the black sexuality movement in the 1930s and 1940s exerted a significant influence on the decolonization of African literature and the generation of modern discourse. It emphasizes the exploration of black spirit so as to make “black” literature equal to “white literature” centered on European literature. However, in the 1950s, with the advent of the African independent movement, it slowly evolved into an African centrist literature, culminating in the 1960s. Soyinka called it “new black poetics.” Sokinca developed his own theory of African poetics in his reflection on black sexuality and the new Negro culture poetics. This article summarizes Sokin card’s African poetic ideas from three aspects: the formation of discourse of alternative modernity in African literature, African consciousness and African writing and poetic dialogue, summarizes his role and contribution in the generation of modern discourse of African literature .
