In 1956, psychologists A. Newell and H. A. Simon, who simulated certain rules of human thinking activities, compiled a computer program that proved the full theorem of chapter two of the famous book Mathematical Principles. The success of this experiment unveiled the prelude to using computers to simulate human mental activity, which is considered to be the real beginning of artificial intelligence. This summer, at the initiative of mathematician J. McCarthy, ten academics who were interested in the field developed an outline for the study in this field and formally adopted the name “artificial intelligence.” In this way, “artificial intelligence” was born as an independent discipline.
