1927年,陶行知办起了晓庄师范。学校周围一些农村,冬闲时农民无处可去,无事可做,故赌风盛行。有些农民赌上了瘾,弄得倾家荡产,夫妻反目,甚至酿成惨剧。陶行知看在眼里,急在心里。他经常教育晓庄学生利用“会朋友”的机会进行宣传,劝诫农民切莫赌钱,但收效甚微。
In 1927, Tao Xingzhi started Xiaozhuang normal. Some rural schools around the school, winter farmers can nowhere to go, nothing to do, so gambling prevails. Some peasants are so addicted that they have become bankrupt, their husband and wife have turned their heads and even lead to tragedies. Tao Xing know in the eyes, anxious in my heart. He often educated Xiaozhuang students to make use of the opportunity of “meeting friends” and advised farmers to stop gambling, but with little success.
