由华中工学院及香港理工学院联合主办的第二届国际金属切削会议1985年5月14日至18日于华中工学院召开,历时五天,圆满成功。会议讨论了金属切削和机械加工自动化两个方面的问题。开幕日在全体会议上宣读了两篇重点论文:英国帝国科技学院机械工程系主任T.M.Husband教授的“工业机器人的研究”和英国劳克巴楼技术大学生产工程系加工技术教授R.Bell的“批量生产的柔性自动化”。
The 2nd International Metals Cutting Conference, co-organized by Huazhong Technology Institute and Hong Kong Polytechnic, was held at Huazhong Institute of Technology from May 14 to May 18, 1985 and lasted for five days with great success. The meeting discussed the metal cutting and machining automation two aspects of the problem. On the opening day, two key papers were read out in plenary session: “Research on Industrial Robots” by TMHusband, Director of Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London, and R. Bell’s Professor of Process Technology, Production Engineering Department, University of Technology, Flexibility of mass production automation. "
