支谦的《法句经序》总结了佛经翻译的经验与方法,阐述了佛经翻译的原则,常常被认为是我国译论的发端,具有开山奠基之意义。本文梳理分析了译论与文章学、美学,乃至文学理论的渊源联系,通过“其辞不雅,近于质直”“美言不信,信言不美”“书不尽言,言不尽意”阐释论证,指出在中国古代翻译活动的历史长河之中,古典学术思想是中国传统译论的长河之源,而中国传统文学理论批评则是中国传统译论的大辂椎轮。
