有几年了,我心里想过假如我不拍纪录片而去拍故事片的话,那我会拍什么样的故事片。因为有不少人问过我有没有打算拍故事片,所以我就去想。实际上我是很烦这种问话的,我听的意思是,好象纪录片有些业余或小儿科,故事片才是电影的最高境界,大家都应该去追求去攀登去梦想。不过人人都这么想、都这么热情地议论传诵谁谁又拍了个什么片子,谁谁谁的片子拍得怎么样,话题都是故事片和那些导演,然后还有人诚恳地试探我,于是就忍不住私下忖摸自己要拍这种片子时该从哪儿入手可以镇得住人。忖摸开始具体化是在看了伊朗导演阿巴斯·基阿鲁斯达米的几部和孩子有关的片子《家庭作业》、《何处是我朋友的家》之后,我想,我要拍一种叫“故事片”的话,是在一个非常原汁原味的环境里,有原汁原味的真人演他们自己的片子,以前没人干过的那种。后来,这种片子有“国货”了,但不是我拍的,是张元的《儿子》和贾樟柯的《小武》。
