在法国大革命125周年纪念日,也就是1914年7月14日,比尔·波音先生第一次体验了乘飞机的感受。他的这次“兜风”改变了世界航空史的进程。波音先生决心要消除乘飞机时令人恐惧的感觉,他立志要发展出舒适可靠的飞行器。从他首次乘飞机至今已整整80年,由他创立的波音公司已向全球提供了7000多架民用及商用飞机,其中最有名的波音747于1969年诞生,由600万个部件组成,可载客366人。1988年继而推出747—400型,载客量又大大增加。
On the 125th anniversary of the French Revolution, July 14, 1914, Mr. Bill Boeing first experienced the feeling of flying. His “ride” changed the course of world aviation history.
