In August 1984, Shule brand shirts produced by Shule Shirts Factory were rated as Shanghai famous brand products. In 1985, 1.19 million shirts for men and women were sold, making a profit of one million yuan; it was 2.64 times and 4.17 times that of 1983, respectively. A township-owned enterprise that was on the verge of shutting down production in 1982 achieved such success after three years.
