由于社会的前进,科学事业的迅速发展,促使人类对所需木材的材种和材质的要求也都发生了变化。人类希望得到大径级的优质材,因此,从材质角度考虑,林木的培育方向也应该是大径级的优质材。但是,小径材的生产仍然继续进行着,利用小径材粘合数层,可制成大断面的集成材;也可以用小径材及小片材制成刨花板、纤维板等。小径材虽然能生产出上述合成板,但是,其成本昂贵,质量也差。从长远利益考虑,应当放弃这种小径材的生产。目前,矿柱、电线杆,脚手架等原木的需要量日趋减少,各树种小径材的用途也正在日益缩小。
Due to the progress of society, the rapid development of science has prompted the human demand for the kinds and materials of wood needed to be changed. Human beings want to get large-diameter high-quality materials, therefore, from the material point of view, the cultivation of trees should also be large-diameter high-quality material. However, the production of small-diameter wood is still going on. The use of small-diameter wood can be bonded to several layers to make large-section integrated timber. Particleboards and fibreboards can also be made of small-diameter wood and small sheets. Although the small diameter of the board can produce the above composite board, however, its high cost, poor quality. Considering the long-term interests, we should abandon the production of such trails. At present, the demand for logs such as pillars, utility poles and scaffolds is declining, and the use of small-diameter timber for various tree species is also shrinking day by day.
