The superantigen binds to the TCR-specific Vβ component and activates all T cells bearing the Vβ component. Superantigen stimulation of T depends on the presence of MHC class Ⅱ molecule-positive APC. This article intends to explore whether superantigens must rely on MHC class II molecules or be directly recognized by TCR components. Previous studies by the authors suggest that stimulation of T cells by strep superantigen (pep M5) requires the assistance of APC when PMA and cytokines are added or cross-linked
