1979~1982年在四川的成都——温江间建立了一铝外导体单管中同轴电缆360路载波试验段(电缆的结构及技术条件见《电信科技情报》1983年第5期)。试验段有两个无人增音段的电缆采取附挂原长途明线杆路架空敷设,其长度分别为9.398公里和6.817公里(增音段标准段长为10±0.5公里)。这两段电缆敷设后电气性能稳定,气闭性能良好,只发生一次由于汽枪击伤造成的绝缘耐压强度不良故障。长途通信干线电缆架空敷设是一尝试,在几年的施工、维护中体会到架空敷设的长途通信电缆有以下优点,为省内长途通信干线电缆采取附挂原有长途明线杆路架空敷设提供了借鉴。
