说起和甲午海战有关的影视作品,总能让人首先想起一些耳熟能详的名字。除了《甲午风云》、《北洋水师》这类上了年头的老片子外,近年来国内外也不乏与之相关的新影视作品,而且几乎都能获得较高的关注度。日本电视剧《坂上之云》虽然仅仅只是和甲午海战有一些擦边球的片段,但也引来了热议如潮,足见这一题材影视剧的独特生命力。与这些热热闹闹的事例显得反差极大的是,犹如藏于深谷密林中的一朵奇葩,其实还有一部拍摄水准较高,而且空前绝后地再现了甲午战争的全过程,几乎堪称甲午影像史诗的电影,却长久以来并不为人所熟知。2001年时,好友萨苏通过电子邮件给笔者发来几张他在日本发现的甲午海战题材电影的剧照,图片虽然并不十分清晰,而且尺寸很小,但内容却足以令人触目难忘,图片上出现的竟然是一艘1:1尺寸的“定远”舰局部。这究竟是一部什么样的电影?1:1的道具背后到底有着什么不同寻常的故事?这部电影里的甲午海战会是怎样的一番情景?这一连串的问题是笔者和很多朋友看到图片后的第一反应,遗憾的是,在当时尽管通过种种努力,却始终没有能够找到这部影片的具体资料,直到不久前,笔者得到了电影的高清碟片,终于揭开了其神秘的面纱。
