Zhang Guocai was born in a family of Chinese medicine practitioners. From the beginning of the 1970s, he changed from treating miscellaneous diseases to treating cancer. In 1986, he undertook the major scientific research project “Lung Cancer of Traditional Chinese Medicine” of Shanxi Science and Technology Commission, which was highly valued by relevant departments and filed in the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
