教学的本质,是按社会需求引导受教育者正确认识世界,充分发挥自身,进而有效地改造世界。语言是教学信息基本的载体,是实现教学目的最关键的凭借,用叶圣陶的话说,就是:“语言是吸收各门科学知识的工具,学生语言能力的水平越高,学校里各门科学知识的教学就越容易取得成绩。”研究、揭示语言本质规律,语言在现代科技条件下转换变形及其运用的科学——语言学的每一步进展,都必然有力地触动着已有教学体制,促进其改革。就象动力理论发展引起运输工具变革,从而引起人们居行方式甚至产业结构变化一样,语言理论的发展也会引起信息交流认识和实践变革,从而引起教学甚至社会交际方式的变化。
