Marianna K. Baum, Ph.D., of the International University of Florida, Miami, USA, and colleagues report in a recent issue of the Journal of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) that broad-spectrum micronutrient supplements can promote those who receive high levels of anti-retrogradation Recovery of CD4 + cell counts in HIV-infected individuals with virus-infected virus (HAART); this intervention also improves neuropathy in patients with stavudine or didanosine. These new findings are consistent with a previous study investigating the clinical outcomes of micronutrient supplements in HIV-infected patients. The study showed that taking supplements was associated with a drop in patient mortality and a delay in progression.
