In the PEP Edition textbook (Compulsory and Optional) Volume II, Chapter XIII, Section VIII “Capacitor Capacitance ” In this chapter, through the study, students learned that the basic role of the capacitor is to charge And discharge. The following is the author on the charge and discharge specific elaboration. Charging a capacitor (storing charge and energy) is called charging. At this moment the two plates of the capacitor are always one plate with positive electricity, the other plate carries the same amount of negative electricity. The capacitor one plate connected to the positive power supply (such as battery pack), and the other one plate connected to the negative power supply, two plates were brought on the same amount of heterogeneous charge. After charging the capacitor between the two plates will generate an electric field, the charging process is to get the power obtained from the power stored in the capacitor
