最近,在定县南王家庄公社南王家庄大队社员荣继红的院内,发现两棵树干四方的椿树(见图)。其中1棵树高达15米,胸围113厘米,胸高南北边长29厘米,东西边长27.3厘米,枝下高6米。该树树干3米以下为四方形,上部逐渐变成圆形,干高大通直,分枝角度小(<30°),冠窄。据说这棵树树龄已有40年,幼树期树干是圆形的,大约10年生后树干逐渐变成方形。椿树材质好,生长快,是我省乡土树种,很受群众欢迎。树干方形出材率高,进行扩大繁殖,对提高木材产量具有一定的意义。
Recently, two tree trunks of toona sinensis were found in the courtyard of Rongjihong, a member of the Nanwangjiazhuang Brigade in South Wangjiazhuang commune, Dingxian County (see photo). One tree up to 15 meters, bust 113 cm, chest height 29 cm north-south side, east-west side length of 27.3 cm, branches 6 meters high. The tree trunks below 3 meters for the four square, the upper part becomes a circle, dry tall straight, branch angle is small (<30 °), the crown narrow. It is said that the tree is 40 years old and has a round tree trunk. After about 10 years old, the trunk gradually becomes square. Chun tree material is good, fast growth, is our province native tree species, very popular with the masses. Trunk square out of the high rate for expansion of breeding, to improve the timber production has some significance.
