拿出84年中标的一个工程,是为了说明十年来设计观念的一些进展。华威大厦于80年代末建成投入使用,成为北京西单商业区改造的第一幢大型商业综合建筑。总面积7000平方米。地下3层,地上10层,1~8层为商业,9~10层为公寓和层顶花园,地下室为设备层,地下车库、餐厅和俱乐部等。建筑外型自认为有一定的气质。反映了80年代初的寻求和开发商的激情,当然还包括主管部门的勇气。 华威大厦的构思: 1.着意创造连续性的购物空间与过去习惯的大型商业之封闭购物空间有所不同,如利用自动扶梯做楼层间的连续,利用共享空间的视觉连续;如室内外空间的连续;室内步行街和室外步行街的连续;(室外二层步行街从华威开始成为西单北大街所有建筑必备内容,而得到肯定);商业建筑之间的连续。 2.注意了垂直交通的分区独立设置,使每层楼均有明确的垂直交通部分和使用部分。而使用空间界面清楚,又有一定的功能模糊性。事实证明,造对使用功能不断调整非常适应。 3.注意现代化购物环境的塑造。在装修上没有搬用某些构件或节外生枝。 华威大厦建成后,我又在华威南侧主持完成了华南大厦(80000平方米)和首都
