An American psychologist, Dr. Holland Land, had done this experiment: He lined up twelve words and let others remember to see which words were most forgotten. Experimental results show that almost no one will remember the first word and the second word. After the second word, there are more mistakes. The seventh and eighth words have the highest error rate. Later, the error gradually decreased. The twelfth word is just like the second word, and there are few mistakes. He referred to this entire erroneous ups and downs as the “memory arrangement effect.” Experiments have shown that the memory effect at the front and at the end is good. Therefore, in the teaching process, we should make full use of this feature of the head-to-tail memory method to obtain the best teaching effect in a limited teaching time.
