1999年崭新的台历刚刚掀去最初的几页,一条喜人的消息在中原大地不胫而走:两年前在南阳市眼科医院院长兼党支部书记任上,受国家卫生部和河南省政府委派,担任中国援助埃塞俄比亚第九批医疗队队长的眼科专家曹晓燕,以其在非洲高原的杰出表现,被国家卫生部授予“授外医疗队模范队长”荣誉称号。她带领的医疗队也同时被授予援外先进医疗队。国家卫生部和河南省政府因此专门为她和她带领的医疗队举行了热烈的庆功大会。
In 1999 a brand new desk calendar just lift the first few pages, a happy news spread like wildfire in the Central Plains: two years ago in Nanyang City Eye Hospital dean and party branch secretary, by the Ministry of Health and Henan provincial government Cao Xiaoyan, an ophthalmologist appointed by China to assist Ethiopia as the ninth batch of medical team captains, was honored with the title of “Model Team Leader of Expatriate Medical Team” by the Ministry of Health for outstanding performance on the African plateau. The medical team led by her was also awarded an AID advanced medical team. Therefore, the Ministry of Health and the Henan Provincial Government held a warm celebration for her and her medical team.
