在当前的资源评价工作中,古盐度破列为沉积学方面需要研究的重要课题之一。甚至在编制“古生物组合分区图”时,都“要求能反映水的深浅、盐度……”。我们认为这是完全正确的。因为,盐度是影响沉积、成岩作用的重要因素。它通过对生物的作用,影响有机质的丰度和生油沉积的优劣;通过对河口射流的作用,影响储集层的分布;通过后来的成岩作用,间接影响储层物性的好坏和成岩圈闭的形成。但是,我国占盐度研究工作的现状还只处于一些零星试验和国外资料介绍阶段,没有自己统一的方法、标准,没有成熟的经验。因此同,认真讨论在资源评价中应该怎样选择古盐度测定的方法便显得很有必要了。
