Director Zheng Dongtian launched his “Mandarin Duck House” in a unique way of narration, bringing the audience refreshing. Can not deny that this is a new exploration of the narrative structure of the movie. However, the gains and losses of this narrative structure may not be open to question. Through a kind of “exhibition-like, piecemeal” narrative method, the film narrates in a plain, unmodified and documentary rhetoric the dullness of the six families in a big city on a certain Sunday afternoon and evening life. It is not difficult to see that in the film, the director presents six layers of newly married couples and the usual enclosed apartments in big cities, presenting the audience with a monotonous and trivial structure on the surface of contemporary urban life: deep structural chaos The complex phenomenon. A family in the film, a couple is a single story. Each of them represents a fault of different cultures and lives. According to the director’s words
