为防止金属在热处理过程中的氧化损失,在金属表面敷以防氧化涂料具有简便易行,不受工件尺寸限制等优点,因此在国内外都在注意它的发展.我国钢铁工业热处理工艺中钢材损失比较严重。就轧钢而言,从钢坯到成材的损失一般为8％左右,而仅在钢坯热处理中因加热产生的氧化铁皮损失约占2％～3％.由冶金部鞍山热能研究院开发研制的高温抗氧化系列涂料,正在金属热处理工艺中逐步应用,并已取得初步效果.
