Since the 1970s, many unique and strongly physiologically active new compounds have been found in sponges, some of which have evolved into potent drugs. We studied 24-methylene-27-methylcholesterol (1) from the South China Sea sponge, Seletta teuuis Lindgren, in the study of the sponge bioactives in the South China Sea. Although this compound has been found from sponges (Aplysina aerophoba) by De Luca et al. In 1972. Times
