The global economic imbalance and the dollar crisis appear to be on both sides of a single coin, the inevitable result of the international monetary system led by the U.S. dollar. The dollar crisis under the Bretton Woods system manifests itself as a structural imbalance in the U.S. balance of payments. The global economic imbalance under the floating exchange rate system is essentially a dollar crisis. The devaluation of the dollar has become a basic measure to resolve the crisis of the U.S. dollar. It will outweigh the disadvantages of the U.S. economy, have a profound impact on the global economy, and require new ideas for the reform of the global monetary system.
