The design and fabrication of a super speed ECL 4-digit half-additor IC are reported in this paper. The final design of the IC is given in considerable detail. A number of problems encountered during the course of the work are discussed, They include, namely, design considerations on circuit speed and certain reference voltages in the circuit, design and fabrication problems relating to the Ic-Vbe characteristics of the transistors, and the diffused resistors design. The IC reported are now in small scale production at our factory.
