演奏技法筝的演奏法主要分右手技法和左手技法:右手职弹,用拇、食、中、无名4指拨弦发声,控制节奏和音的强弱变化,左手司按,用食、中指或中、无名2指捺抑筝弦,控制音高和弦音的变化,表现不同的风格韵味。左手司按为其技法的主要特色,同时也要职弹,技法与右手相同。右手的主要技法有:托、劈、勾、剔、抹、挑、摘、打、花、撮、轮、摇等。左手的主要技法有;吟、颤、揉、按、推、滑、点、泛等。筝的发音浑厚明亮、音韵优美华丽,善于表现行云流水的意境和细腻委婉的情调,常用于独奏、重奏、歌唱的伴奏及器乐合奏。
