在目前为数不多的农村题材影片中,《山道弯弯》还是有其特点的。它通过普通农村妇女金竹在丈夫因公殉职后一段不平常的生活经历,从一个侧面反映了我国农村现实。这部影片,没有离奇的情节,宏伟的场面,也没有豪华的陈设,时髦的服饰,甚至在艺术处理上还存在着明显的不足,但是,它以自然质朴、生动细腻的笔触,揭示了我国农村妇女高尚的品格和美好的心灵。它犹如影片中经常出现的那条翠竹掩映的弯曲山道,看似平常,却发人遐想,表现出一种平中见奇、淡中有味的艺术风格。
