Japan has synthesized a nascent chelating resin (PDTA resin) containing functional groups such as propylenediaminetetraacetate. The number of ligands in this PDTA resin was 127 μmol / g, the same as Cu adsorbed on the resin. The chromatographic selectivity and retention behavior of rare earth elements (REEs) on PDTA resin were determined. A good correlation (R ~ 2 = 0.963) was obtained between the capacity factors of the REEs on the PDTA resin and the stability constants of the corresponding PDTA complexes. by
